Clogging and baseball.... Busy weekend.

My friends.... Welcome to our crazy, busy weekend.

Wade's baseball season has started up.

He had his first game on Saturday... They won!

Paige had to jump in to take pictures.

So did I... Kids wanted to take turns with the camera.

No clue whats going on with my hair... Looks brassy. Time for the pony-tail.

His 2nd at-bat (don't ask me why there are two... they are the same)

Friday evening the girls were picked up for a clogging event
(I had to work late... Boo)

Lindsey, Olivia3 and (my own) Olivia2 getting ready.

How cute is this pic? Really.... This is why I love this team.

Saturday and Sunday loaded with parade and shows
If you look closely, we are all accounted for.

Jessica and Olivia (friends and neighbors since age 4)

Sunday's group.

totally, exhausted but completely worth it.
Excited about this week... Meredith's birthday is Wednesday!
Lots of celebrating coming up.

Davis updates

I wish I could say that the reason I've been absent from the blog was because major changes have been happening.

But the truth is.... LIFE has been happening.

Each week passes and despite being crazy busy.... I didn't think anything was worth posting.

But now I'm thinking that LIFE is worth posting.

Last month was CRNA week.... The AAs that work with us at West were nice enough to pitch in and get a Misha cake.

One of the CRNAs on our staff made this fantastic collage of us.

Me and some of my awesome co-workers. (Ileana, Chrissy and Lizette)

Same crazy trio.... With a lap-sitting Doctor Newman.

This was a posted flier that was the way the OR celebrated us!

And our staff enjoying the ice-cream.

Ignore Alberto's grab for my dessert....

It was also the same week that the DOCTOR staff of 2005 were reunited.

7 years later.... These guys still have it.

And I thought it was great that I sent this photo to Roger (who is a member of the 2005 group)... And this was his response.

Roger lives in Massachusetts - which has been a HUGE topic for us.

I'll get back to that.

My work also had a 'post holiday' party at a country club in Plantation.

It was nice for everyone to dress up and just enjoy a few hours out.

Nicki (who delivered Paige, by the way), Dimple (my sister from school), me and our friend Lara (both she and her brother are anesthesiologists with us)

Dimple, Kenia and Melissa... Good people.

Gotta love the cone-shaped-napkins. ;)

When I wasn't at work enjoying ice-cream.... Or enjoying my co-workers period... I was garage-sale-ing.

Where I picked up this piece of awesomeness....

I mean... How adorable? It even had a hat that looked like a compass.

Best part... Homemade and $5!

Bryan wasn't so lucky.... He had to fix the sprinklers.

Meanwhile, the girls had the braces appointments.

Bryan and I pay this guy's mortgage, I think.

But I'd say it's making a big difference in Meredith's mouth.

Her before shot... May 2012

And February 2013

A reminder of her beautiful self.

Took this shot of Paige and our clogging instructor, Becky.

Two beauties, I think.

And, for now, our plans to relocate are on hold. I'll dedicate a post to it another day, but let's just say that when the weather is this.

And this...

It kind of gets you questioning if we could handle it.

I'll be heading up there soon... Taking a closer look. Hoping to be swept off my feet.

Pretty much that's our month in a nutshell.

This weekend has lots of clogging and Wade has his first baseball game of the year.

I'll be posting photos soon

Thrift store scavenger hunt.... My YHL challenge

Welcome... any traffic coming over from YHL.
Great to 'meet' you... we are already friends through our love for the Petersiks, right?

I have two blogs...
Davis - party of 6 (personal/family/projects)
and
my oldest two children and I are on a very busy clogging team.
Southfloridacloggers.blogspot.com (our dance team)

Feel free to wander about either one, really.... mi casa es su casa.

Now.... onward - to the thrift store challenge

Anyone that knows me, KNOWS that I L-O-V-E the website/blog
YOUNG HOUSE LOVE

Their book.... Was my Christmas present!

(here is a link to John and Sherry.... Love them)

And I was lucky enough to live in a spot where they had a book-signing stop, so I got to meet them!
Me and my awesome friend, Lani.

They were like.... Stalker, it's time for you to leave, now.

So exciting... they were on my own personal bucket list

So, when I read their THRIFT STORE challenge,
I was totally game.
Do you know the song.... THRIFT SHOP by Macklemore?
(my kids certainly did :(, they had it already on iPads.)

Basically, the song rattles off a list of thrift store finds.
YHL Challenge is to tackle a thrift store with $20.

Step 1... Take a pic of your cash and the store.
Here's mine...

Step 2... Chronicle your finds
(I had to go to the school uniform store, too, so I killed 2 birds with 1 stone)

Luckily, everything fit!
But check out the total bill... $6.97 (cha... ching)

Step 3... Find items in the store that are mentioned in the song.
(if you can believe that I had to Google the lyrics to understand it)

I was able to find....
'A keyboard!!'

OK, not really a keyboard.... It was an organ,
but really... Who's being picky?

And
'A big-a$$-coat.'

Yes that is me.... In that nasty leather trench coat inside a SA store.
I was all NYPD blue.... CSI - Fort Lauderdale-style

(the lady in the background was the sister of the girl I asked to take a photo...
She probably thought I was C-R-A-Z-Y!

So... Not bad for an hour on my day off this week
I searched for green shoes or velcro shoes but I had to hurry... another time !
Thanks for checking in... Until next time.

Paige's BIG haircut... Donating to Locks of Love

Paige has been asking to cut her hair for a while now.

I agreed to cut it, if we could cut off enough to donate it to Locks of Love.
As you can see, she had plenty of length.

Her hair is just so long that I worry that she will not grow it this length again.

She has begged to the point that she tries to pull me into random hair salons.
Well... Today, I finally caved in.

Gotta love any 'before' shots, right?

Off to the shampoo area she went. Poor thing, needed a booster and TWO pillows to get her high enough.
That's my FAV stylist... Shelda (Transfiguration in Davie)

Locks of Love requires donated hair to be 10 inches and clean.
So, She was all bubbly for a bit....

And my little princess was enjoying the head-rub.... Best part of getting your haircut, right?

Washed and measured!

The OMG moment... Caught on tape.

I was still in shock... But it was looking good, don't ya think?
Making it straight.

It's 4 year old hair... Purity.

She was SO good... Probably too afraid to move. Lol

Blowing it out

Saying good-bye... Must be a freeing moment.

Final product...

Personally, I love it.

I just think this kid is the cutest.... I know, I'm biased.
When we actually send off the pony-tail, I'll update.
Hope everyone is great!!
